I'm Kind of a Big Deal
I'm just so full of awesome that I had to get some of it out.

You know, I have really been ok for a while now with the whole infertility thing. I haven't sat and ruminated over it, I haven't shed a single tear, probably for at least a year.

And then.

Then we were at my parents on Sunday having a nice big family dinner, (in which my husband made the turkey, all by himself, while I worked) and of course, my brother and SIL were there. I'm sure you've heard of them, the ones that pop out babies every year or two? My beautiful neice, Madison, who is now 18 months, was running around, giggling, like 18 month olds do. (Especially when their FAVORITE uncle Dan is chasing them, like he does, for HOURS.) And Dan looks up at me and says, "Can't we adopt?"

Just out of the fucking blue.

I'm all like Ha Ha on the outside, but it tears me the fuck up on the inside that I can't do that one thing for HIM, not to mention, for myself. I can't give him another child.

So, it just kinda sucked, is all.

So, I'm sitting at work and this sweet little old lady starts yelling:
"I have to S-H-I-T-T!"
"I have to S-H-I-T-T right noooow!"

So, I found a CNA to help me and we took her to the bathroom, where she did, in fact, s-h-i-t. After all was said and done, she says to us, "Oh, thank you girls. How much do I owe you?"

HAHAHAHAHA

I have to say that my life in the nursing home is interesting. I absolutely LOVE it. I know I am meant to be there. I love being home in the evenings. I get to see the kids more, I'm not nearly as grouchy and I don't even have to take the ol' AD's anymore. I got my rosy spectacles back!

The kids are doing very well in school, they are healthy, as am I, and they want entirely too much for Christmas. (Have you seen how much the new PS3 is? Um.. if not, it's $600, not including a freaking GAME. Jeebus.)

Needless to say, they won't be getting one of those.

How are you all?

So, we're all sitting in the living room and someone on TV mentions the name "Richard Simmons." My son asks, "Who is Richard Simmons?"
My daughter says "I don't know. Maybe he's related to Gene Simmons."

I've never felt prouder at my parenting skills than at that moment.
