I'm Kind of a Big Deal

I've made an amazing discovery.

You know how when you are smack dab in the middle of life, you just wake up one day and wonder what the hell happened, and when the hell did it happen?

That happened to me today.

I was looking at some pictures that were taken about 1 1/2 years ago. (or yesterday, as it certainly seems.) One picture in particular made me do a double take. In it, is my son and daughter, leaning into each other, smiling. It is precious. Here:

See the cute little round faces? Notice that some of my son's teeth are missing? SO FREAKING CUTE.

Then there's this other one:

Notice how BIG she is? I must have blinked some time, cuz I did not see that happen. The other day she was this little girl. Now she's not a little girl. She's 11 and getting boobies. I embarass her. She started rolling her eyes and groaning when I dance and sing in the car; things she used to think were HILARIOUS. Now, OMG SOMEBODY SHE KNOWS WILL SEE HER MOTHER ACTING LIKE A RETARD, AND THAT'S LIKE, THE END OF THE WORLD.

Damnit. I hate this shit.

Yeah, wait until your son is taller than you! And wearing a size 13 shoe! At 13!

Its so hard when they grow up. Its hard when you can't hug them in public. And gosh forbid you sing in the car!

I feel your pain.

Ahhh. Pictures to look at on the days that they're little shits, right? Great pictures and thanks for sharing them. Must be weird seeing them grow so old. Just think... you're daughter will be wanting to date soon! (sorry, you can slug me later)
